Gloria Mae (Magruder) Brooks, daughter of the late Warren Gray Magruder and Berdina Anna Brooks Magruder, was born at D.C. General Hospital in Washington, D.C. on October 13, 1950. On Friday January 7, 2022, she departed this life at her home in Brandywine, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband, William David Brooks, son, Justin Gray Brooks, and brother, Robert Magruder. She leaves to cherish her memory: son, Dean (Stacey); step-son, Donovan Simpson; grandchildren, Taylor Deane Brooks (James White), and Evan Dean Brooks; five siblings, Warren Magruder, Cynthia Colbert, Doretha Savoy, Nathaniel Magruder, and Wendell Magruder (Phyllis); one uncle, Augustus Brooks; two aunts, Beatrice Hawkins and Catherine Brooks; cousin, Irene Savoy; one brother-in-law, Bernard Brooks, Sr.; sister-in-law, Marlene Brooks; and nieces and nephews, Dirk Magruder, Cynthia Brooks, Bernard Brooks, Jr., Daryl Savoy, Robert Washington, Damean Brooks, Patriece Brooks, Jodie Penny, Tiffany Spooner, and Katara Magruder. She also leaves a host of cousins and many friends.
